New Zoas wont open?

I recently aquired some zoas and am having trouble with them opening up. My other zoas and coral are fine. All the parameters are great. I was wondering if I should dip them or what do yall do to get them started opening up?

give them some time, we got some 2 weeks ago and are just now opening

I usually dip mine in Logul Solution and check for pest and WC . The combination of the two or one of them will help out alot.

Some times I have the same issue with new palys or zoas....I have found the best results in just leaving them be. MOST zoas and palys are very hardy and will do fine in all types of conditions...with exception to a few like African Blues that require heavy light and heavy flow.

I have had colonies stay completely closed for over two weeks.

I always carefully examine my new corals for pests though and dip them before entering the tank....then I leave them be and allow them time to adjust to the new settings.

Or just go w/ what Steve said and wait it out. But it only helps to dip or WC

I dip before hand but didnt know if I should redip as I know some people say it helps to jumpstart stuff like sps. I didnt know if zoas would react the same way.

They are on my frag rack which is a couple inches under the water but about 6 inches from under the metal halide if that makes since. Let me try again they are a about 4 inches down but not directly under the light.

We always dip our zoas in freshwater for 8-10 minutes and the pests (if any) fall off. Then we dip in Brightwell Medicoral Coral Dip. We just got a colony of Pastel Cat Eyes and they stayed closed for a week.

that is too close, you should always start out from the sand bed.
