Some times I have the same issue with new palys or zoas....I have found the best results in just leaving them be. MOST zoas and palys are very hardy and will do fine in all types of conditions...with exception to a few like African Blues that require heavy light and heavy flow.

I have had colonies stay completely closed for over two weeks.

I always carefully examine my new corals for pests though and dip them before entering the tank....then I leave them be and allow them time to adjust to the new settings.
