Saw on the news Sea World resumed their killer whale shows, only difference is the trainers aren't allowed in the water at the same time (for now). The killer whale that did this had killed 2 others before. It was a wild caught whale, not one of the ones born in captivity. They should have returned it to the wild a long time ago. An interesting part of the news story that I didn't know about was that the killer whale featured in the movie Free Willy that was trained and released back into the wild later died because it never learned to hunt on it's own. So of course that's one of Sea Worlds arguments for not stopping the shows.
