Well, then you won't be disease free and your new fish that you are taking so much time to quarantine stand the chance of being infected by the current fish in the display. Such as Ich.

So, basically you are just preventing new disease from entering the system....but you are not starting out disease free. Is that the goal?

    Make sense?

I hope there is nothing left in the DT, the two fishes i having in there now are fine. I've doing alot of water change lately too. I think there are always some kind of parasite and diseases in the system but atleast am preparing them to have a better chance of fighting back this time.

I agree Giau....you will definitely be increasing your chances....but there is only one way to be sure you are 100% free of parasites...

Here's a good read about this subject, written by another MAAST member:

They did not die of ich though, they die of flukes .Unless flukes and ich are the same thing.

No, but Ich is something that your fish probably have, you just don't see any signs of it. Unless you have treated for it, then they probably have it and since you are going through all of the trouble of quarantine why not do it 100% instead of 80%.

Anyways...just saying is all. 80% is better than any precautions I take. So, you still get mad props! Just wanted you to know about the other 20% in case you over looked it.
