Bump ... any more ideas out there? Let's hear 'em!

General feedback: The attendance at meetings has grown to a point that it is generally not feasible to have it at members' homes, so we have moved away from that in the past year or so, but we have several options for free space and low cost space that we are using and continue to look for still more. Got a new suggestion just this week that looks very promising! We are also exploring an idea or two to allow some opportunities for members' to open up their homes, though, so you may still get taken up on that offer!

Also, the idea of having simultaneous meetings in different geographic locations is an exciting and ambitious thought. We may very well grow to that point some day, but for the present time, we have enough difficulty finding brave and generous folks who are willing to step up and present. So far we just all drive to see them whereve we can find them!

Kristy should we take these ideas and poll them to see which ones the members would like to see the most. Maybe everyone could vote on three?

I'm not sure if it was said or not ( i didn't read this whole thread) but a behind the scene at sea world would be cool esp. if the person knows what is actually going on with the tanks

This may not work for what you are looking for, but I would love to be involved in a photo seminar. My past club did this. It takes someone real special to arrange it and someone willing to teach (could be the same person, but might want to share the load). They set it up so it was a small group hands on teaching with 4-6 people in each session. Members opened their homes and tanks for pictures. Everyone brought their own camera (from point and shoot to high end SLRs). These were done on Saturdays over the course of a month I think.

I also like the DIY projects where the kits are bought in advance and there to do as you are being taught. I won't go hunt down the supplies because I can never find them and I totally forget what I learned by the time I do.

I like the phyto tube, another idea is screen tank tops.
