Merging tanks??
Okay so I have a 29g and a 90G and want to merge the livestock and rock from the 29g into the 90g and I'm not sure how to do it. The 29 g has been up and running for about 2 years with no problems and the 90g has been up and running for 1 year with no problems. Should I start with moving the rocks/coral into the 90g slowly... like 1 every few days? I really want to keep the stress level of the fish to a min. The fish that will be moving from the 29g to the 90g are 2 clowns, 1 6 line, and 1 yellow watchman..oh and 1 skunk shrimp. I will need to get most rocks/corals out first because I don't think I will be able to catch the fish with them in there. Any ideas?

i would take 20% of the 90g water and put it into the 29 ... let that sit for about 2 hours then do 40 % than like 60% thats just me tho ...

I would definitely move the rock over first, and JMO but I don't think you need to worry about stressing the fish on the receiving end by bringing in new rock. Limit the time spent out of water and ensure that the coral are acclimated to your larger tank before putting them in there.
As far as fluctuating parameters I think would be if/when you move the sand over which I would definitely be sure to do that over a prolonged time frame.
Once the rock and coral are out of the BC then catching the fish will be a bit easier. Although they won't have much in the way of places to hide you may want to feed them to lesson their stress levels while getting ready to capture them... try luring them into a net or underwater container with food. Then acclimate them to the new tank.

i merged 2 bio cube 29 in a tub of new 50/50 old and new water for a couple days the straight into my 65, only reason for the tub is i sold my 29's before i was done with the 65, no sand in tub went into 65 right away(mistake) should of started with new sand, took 3 days for water to clear up, didnt loose one fish or coral

So if I move the rock over tonight and the livestock over tomorrow things should be okay? The parameters on both tanks are almost exact so that shouldn't be a problem.

Personally, I would move the rock and fish the same day. Rock first, after a water change in the larger tank.
This will make the fish in the larger tank less likely to be aggressive since their territories have been disturbed.

Good plan! Think I will wait until Monday when I have the full day!

Well today was the day. I moved all the rock and livestock out of my 29g and into my 90g. So far all seem to be adjusting fine. I'll be doing a water change tomorrow to "freshen" things up a little. Keep your fingers crossed that things stay all good!
