Thread: too much light on a mushroom?????

Default too much light on a mushroom?????

    another question for you guys.

added another set of lights to bump me up to 3w/per gallon, and my red mushrooms are loving it....... but my other set of purple mushrooms are doing all kinds of crazy stuff (looks like the edges are burning, shriveling, hiding)

are they just spazing out, or do I need to drop them to the bottom of the tank?

    thanks again

I would think it would just move if it is getting too much light. It might just be the sudden change to more light added. We had some fuzzy mushrooms who loved being at the top, right under the halide. I would think give it a little time and see what happens.

Probably an adjustment period like Mike said. They should rearrange themselves to suit their needs.

I've got a few types of shrooms in the tank, and other than a few pop off's, my shrooms never move..... I've always had to manually place them elsewhere.

Yeah i don't thin the light power is the problem. Seems like they just need to adjust to the new lighting. I have 6.5 watts per gallon and i have some purple one about 5 inches from the top and they do fine.
