Thread: Reef Safe silicone

  1. #1

    Default Reef Safe silicone

100% silicone is 100% silicone right? So is all non-acrylic 100% silicone reef safe? Why wouldn't it be? I have some GE silicone 2 black 100%silicone I want to use in my sump, but I thought I would ask first.

Yes glass to glass. I though silicone 1 was a no and 2 was ok. hahahaha

I believe the silicone 2 has a mold and mildew chemical in it, that I would not put in the tank. I want to say that 1 is what I used to mount the foam in my tank.
