Love it! You guys can definitely contribute from another town, by the way. A lot of the planning can be done by phone. The most significant contribution that is needed is ideas, input, and communication - and anyone can do that!

Kevin, I will get on the change of access today (been swamped!) So glad to see these other offers to help. Discussion and input is such a good thing!

Maybe we could start a thread or area for ideas and then one for planning. That way like the ideas chris gave in the other thread we could post it and make it a sticky so they arent forgotten or lost in other threads? I also like the food drive/diy food idea. I was thinking about another diy food session and asking people to bring canned food would be a great way to give back to the community. I still would like a behind the scenes at sea world but I bet that would be expensive. Another idea is the tank tours we talked about. Ok I will stop for now but more ideas/suggestions to come...

I'll start a MAAST events brainstorming thread and then sticky it. The planning part will definitely have to be separate.

Maybe this should all be discussed out in the open? I would like to hear your ideas. I really wanted to go to the zoo and see the behind the scenes stuff. Seaworld of course, but what else? The Texas State Aquarium would be cool. What about the colleges? Any colleges in south texas heading up cool studies or anything we could get involved in? What about, making our own hatcheries for different types of things, phyto, rotifers, etc? There could be an additional fee, or a list of items for a project that everyone could build together, like a birdhouse in school. Foam would be a good event, messy, fun, inexpensive, and creative. Focus on the outside stuff while it's cool!

::I tried to post this last night at like 2:30 in the morning but MAAST was down:: Suprised it was still left in the paste function!

That sounds really cool. I'd love that.
