I read some of the aiptasia remedies can be harmful for sea urchins.
What's an easy way to eradicate a small group of aiptasia (only 4 in a 125g tank - nothing major) without causing harm to my urchins?

The old syringe and Kalk slurry method works good for me.
how exactly is that done? I am going to the feed store right now anyway so I'm going to pick up a syringe as well.
Karin
I use a syringe w/o a needle. In a tea cup... I add 1 teaspoon of Kalk and 2 teaspoons of water. Stir, suck up into syringe, and plaster what I want to eliminate with the mix. I have done this to paly's and other things I wanted to remove.
Oh see I already did it wrong. I did get one with a needle so I did it with the needle. Got one really good. The other 3 are still hanging in there.

I've used a syringe to kill majano anemones and injected them with calcium.
Worked wonders and never have returned.
But the best and natural way to control aiptasia was peppermint shrimp.
Mine have died I'm guessing 'cause I haven't seen any and my aiptasia is beginning to return.
My local stores haven't been carrying peppermint shrimp. :( :(
And I'm sad that I haven't and won't be able to visit S.A. because I'm short on cash and my bf now works Saturdays.

Yeah I didn't want to get a shrimp just for 4 little aiptasias in a great big tank.
I injected some more (still with the needle) and I think they're all goners now.
It's actually kind of fun!
Karin
lol Yeah it's fun.
My 100 gallon has about 6 - 10 aiptasia but they're all spread out on different rocks.
They're growing fast and I think I might give them the shot of death too. lol
Problem is, I know there are probably some I can't see.
But yeah I might just inject those with calcium. Mwahahaha *cough*

Just smeared an Aiptasia with 'the paste of death' in my tank up here at work... burn baby, burn
(I'm obviously a fan of the Kalk slurry method as well)
