Some backstory first. My family has gotten me a "cookie cake" from one of the big cookie shops in the mall on my birthday every year for the last 20 years or more. Since I'm starting a seahorse tank later this month, I asked for a picture of a seahorse on this year's cookie. One problem - I was visiting family in Rome, GA, at the time, a town of about 30k in NW Georgia. When my wife placed the order, she got passed around through a few people, but was eventually told that doing a seahorse would be no problem. The day the cookie was supposed to be picked up, I got a phone call from the cookie store, saying something to the effect that they couldn't find a picture of a seahorse in the store (um, internet, anyone?). The lady I spoke with asked if she could just do fish instead because she "ain't never seen a seahorse before." Well, someone in the store decided to give it their best shot anyway, and attached is a picture of the result. On the one hand, I'm grateful that they at least tried. On the other hand, the two best comments from the kids who saw this cookie were:
"That's not a seahorse!" (my 4-year-old nephew) and
"When can we eat the saxophone seahorse cookie?" (my 9-year-old daughter)
