First fish from GC Reef now available online!
We are pleased to announce the release of the first fish from GC Reef.
1) The first batch of GCR tank bred Onyx clownfish is now available. These were raised from some one of the nicest pairs of onyx clowns we’ve ever seen! Check them out at: http://www.gcreef.com/osc/index.php
2) We have completed our quarantine process on several other fish and they are now available online. All of these fish have been quarantined and treated with copper sulfate and/or 37% formaldehyde solution to combat Amyloodinium ocellatum and Cryptocaryon irritans… the bane of aquarium keepers existence! If required, fish are given therapeutic saltwater baths that contain praziquantel or other medications to eliminate flukes, protozoan, and parasites occasionally observed on wild fish. Finally, fish are only posted on our website once treatments are complete and the fish are eating and healthy. No water is shared between quarantine tanks to eliminate the possibility of transmitting harmful parasites. This ensures you get the absolute healthiest animals possible.
And no, we do not increase the price of the fish for this treatment or only do this on ‘select’ animals. All the fish that come through our doors get treated the same way. We absorb this cost as we would rather you have a healthy animal that thrives.
