best gps?

my wife does a bunch of traveling in town doing home health and needs a new gps system. She used the dell axiom until it bit the dust...anyway, just looking for personal experiences and opinions..thanks!

we have been happy with our garmin, but nothing to compare it to as it is our first one

Garmin is the leader in the aviation world. I have a garmin 496 that has auto and aviation data as well as XM music and XM weather. It is very acurate and fairly easy to use.

I loved my Garmin 750 until some .... broke into my car and stole it. I replaced it with a 765, which I DO like - but it's kind of flaky sometimes... Some of the Garmins have lifetime free traffic. The traffic is OK, but not perfect. Getting better though. Just don't set it up to avoid traffic. It will dump you onto back streets when there's a 1 minute delay on the freeway!

Forgot to mention - the 700s I bought have a feature that it extremely important to me (I'm a real estate appraiser). If I key in a bunch of addresses, it will sort the route for me most efficiently. I sometimes have to take photos of 10 houses in a neighborhood.

I just use Maps on my iPhone. It seems to do a good job. I haven't had any problems with it.

Iphone stops working at about 2500' AGL. Even though it has GPS, it needs a cell signal to download map images.

I don't know the last time I was 2500 feet above ground.... ;)

LOL yeah, I guess it's not that common in everyday driving.
