i am looking at norton to renew but my question is what is the difference between norton 360 and just the regular norton antivirus.

Norton 360 is a complete internet security suite -- firewall, antivirus, real time scan, and antispyware... Antivirus alone is just the antivirus portion. When I DO run Windows, I tend to run Avast! or AVG for antivirus, and AdAware for spyware as a 'prophylactic' -- these are all free tools, and do the job just as well as their commercial brethren

well i am can get it for free. at frys there is a 3 user for 60 with 60 in rebates. so i was thinking about just getting it since its free.

No harm in getting it, its a solid software package -- I'm just a cheapskate when it comes to computer software after a decade + in Linux ;)

360 is a much larger package, more protection, but in turn may make your machine a tad less responsive... the Antivirus isn't quite as top-heavy as the whole set together
