Thread: Looking For Fish Trap

    Default Looking For Fish Trap

Does anybody have a fishtrap that I can borrow? The wife thought it would be a good idea to put a cleaner wrasse in my tank, but it turns out that he has a taste for our box fish. I've tried getting him out by baiting a gatorade bottle, chasing him with a net to no availl. I got the boxfish out so that he would stop eating him but I really need to get the cleaner wrasse out before the foot long box fish goes crazy in the 37 gallon qt tank.

    Thanks

    Jose,

Here's a bit advice. When we were taking our 240 down we used egg crate the width of the tank and doubled it so the holes were not so big he could escape through.

We then rounded our wrasses all on one side of the tank and moved the crate towards the end of the tank to minimize the space they had to swim to a very minimal. We were able to catch them all in no time. And of course we used a net.

Hope this helps! It also works on catching your fish in a tank full of coral.

    Just a small tank...

I hope you find a trap Jose. I can't imagine trying to catch a little wrasse in a 600 gallon tank.
    Good luck!

Try putting food in the net when your feeding them.

I actually have a 3 you can borrow if your still in need. For that big of a tank you could set them up in different places. lmk

Thanks Everyone. I'm borrowing a trap from a fellow Maast member that lives down the road. If that doesn't work I'll give Eve's idea a try.

    Thanks
