    Default New Water Storage system

Just finished converting an Entertainment Center into a storage for RO/DI.Thanks to Jason at AD for drilling the trashcan for me.Currently making 30 plus gallons of RO/DI.Can't see lid on trashcan but I drilled a 1/4 in hole to slide tubing from RO/DI.Saw a similar system on RC.

I like it! Looks simple yet effective. I'm guessing you only make 5 gal. of salt water at a time?

Yes,currently have a 12 gallon Nanocube and a 55 gallon tank.Usually do a 5 gallon WC on the big tank and 2-3 gallon change on the cube.I can also fill more than one bucket if I need more.Having 30 gallons of RO/DI ready should keep me from constantly filling up 5 gallon water jugs

It also cuts down on the possibility of a flood fromm filling up buckets straight from the RODI filter.

Another good thing about filtering large amounts of water at once is the quality of water you get. If you have ever noticed, the first bit of water out of the filter after it has set a while will show higher TDS then gradually drop to zero. If you just filled up a bucket every once in a while you would have that small amount of impure water in each bucket. With a big container that small amout is mixed with a much larger volume of water.
Of course that is assuming that you fill the entire container each time it gets low.
