Debate!! What JBJ Nanocube to get the 28g quad 105w PC lighting or the 28g with a 150w halide, only planning on keep mushrooms, zoas, easy corals and a few fish. Not planning on hard corals. Not sure if the halide will be a bit much for what i want to keep, also thinking of temperature being a factor. Do you guys have any suggestions or reccomendations it will be appreciated?

I often get heat issue in my 36w PC'd biocube. If you don't plan on (think about this carefully) getting into more light intensive corals, just go with the PC's.

I have a friend that has the 28 g with MH 150 W....with the closed canopy, it runs too hot....at least in south Texas, but he bought a clip-on fan and attached it to the back to cool the water...it has worked great.....Also, the protein skimmer that comes with it sucks, plan on getting another or doing without.....After all his modifications, it is one of the most kick butt cubes I have ever seen....It looks like a field of corals ......He has LPS, soft corals, and anemones ....

If you decide on the halide look in the sale/trade forum. Somebody posted the deluxe viper (with fan!) there for $150 (is $300 new)

Just go with the halides - You KNOW the SPS is next. You KNOW it is.

Any chance you'll be keeping some inebriated clams too?

theres a company that sells a LED jbj cube or you can buy the kit later, no heating issues there jbjnanocubes.com, or just buy a stock one and get a clip on metal hilade, in the short time ive been in this hobby ive had CF,T5 and now MH,the growth and shimmer look from the MH is my fav, i had a biocube 29 setup also with a 4x24w t5 on it open top had the light 3inches above the water with no heat issues. its up to you and what you want to do in the future, you will save money just uying what your going to need later instead of upgrading later.
