Carb didn't look bad, had a friend help clean it out about a year or two ago. I was actually mowing the yards when it died. Got about half way across a pass when it clogged up on the thick gras. Flipped it on it's side to clean out the grass and then when I flipped it back, it wouldn't start for more than a second or two, kind of like it was burning up the gas in the carb and then it would die. I could prime it and it would do the same thing. Thought maybe junk got in the fuel line. Took it apart this weekend and blew out the lines, etc. and now I can't even get it to start at all. It gets gas from the tank to the carb, just something else not working right.
