maintaining a fuge
Question: Does anyone vaccuum out their fuge during a water change?
I mean, mine has caulerpa growing in it, and like a 2 inch bed of sand, ... I know it is collecting detritus, should I try toclean it out every once in a while?

Every so often I take some out so I can get more growth, Wichita helps promote a beter system. If you are collecting detrious then I would turn of your pumps and shake you algea and siphon the water out and yes I do some of my water changes from my sump to get detrious out.

How big is the fuge, how much current is passing through it? how deep is the detritus?
