    Default Crab ID

    Just recently my buddy's 1 year tank we just found this guy. Have not added any live rock in months. Have no clue where he came from. What is this guy.

    not sure what he is but cool looking
    90g mixed reef, 12g nano, 3 dogs, 3 cats, 2 ferrets.
    Driving the wife crazy.......PRICELESS.

    I posted on 3reefs and they are saying that he is not reef safe and he is an orange crab. I don't believe this because his claws are smaller and he has blue back legs

    Doesnt matter what size the claws are, what matters is if theyre serrated or if theres a pad at the ends. Difficult to tell from that photo, any chance of a closer pic of its claws? I would tend to agree that its probably not going to be safe around small fish...

    I will try to snap a pic tonight with a real camera. This thing is the size of an emerald. This was taken with my iphone here is another one

    I looked at http://www.melevsreef.com/id/crabs.html and there is one, Lutea commensural crab for pocillipora, that is close but the claws and eyes are different, unless I'm not looking at it right in your picture.
