Default Harlequin Shrimp: 1 or pair needed?

    1. Can I get just one or do i need a pair?

    2. Is one okay for a nano BC14 if the shrimp are the only things in the tank?

    3. Can I use waterchange water from my 75g to change out water in my biocube14? I heard that you're only supposed to feed shrimp one arm at a time of starfish and to make sure the starfish doesnt fowl the water by changing water daily while they feed

One is fine. You can put fish and corals in, just be careful of the fish you choose make sure they won't eat him. My friend has a couple starfish and lets the shrimp eat one till it's almost dead and places the starfish back in the sump of the tank and pulls another starfish out to feed the shrimp.

I used to to the above with mine, but soon they caught on - and started dragging the starfish into an are of the tank I couldn't get to.

I thought about getting two or three starfish and putting them in the sump of my 75g and just cut off an arm and rotate with the starfish. The only thing is i read an article that says that when you cut apart the starfish it releases a bunch of microscopic spicules that keep the starfish together, and this could irritate corals

I would get a pair so they can team up against a large starfish which could end up turning the tides on an unlucky single Harley. I love it when they "dance", it's too funny.

so far my shrimp are doing well! picked them up from aquarium masters and they've been eating at the choc. starfish since i dropped it in. i think they might kill the starfish prematurely since the male is picking at it in the middle instead of the legs
