Indecisive Hermit
I saw a hermit switch shells! I've never seen it before, it happens so fast. This little guy was scoping out a new shell for a while, I blinked and missed it. The next morning, he was back in the old shell, but still scoping out the new one he'd just vacated. This time, I got to see him flip back into the new one. He still seems unsure of the new home, but staying put for now.
There are plenty of other shells available, of different sizes and shapes. Is this kind of indecisive behavior normal? I've seen land hermit crabs out of their shell before, and their body sure looked different than this guy. He (she?) had little red round somethings all over the tail end. Eggs?

I think it's normal, in fact I had a red leg that kept trying a shell out like once a month for almost 6-8 months until he finally stayed put in the new shell. He kept going back and forth. I think the new one was a bit too big but he was set on making it his new home despite the fact that he had a junkyard of shells to choose from.
Wish you and I both had taken pics. Definitely entertaining.
