    Default NFL becoming a Joke?

Is it me or does the NFL seem to become more ridiculous every year.

All the criminals. 1 guy goes to prison for be involved with dog fights and of corse hes back in the NFL. Antoher kills a man while driving drunk. One man carries guns into clubs without a permit. This list could go on forever....

Whats this! Brett Farve is coming back again to play for Minnesota, WTF is he and the NFL thinking.

Before I would defend the NFL when foreigners or non lovers of football would make jokes about it but I dont think I can any longer.

Very dissapointed; although I will still watch the Cowboys attempt again this year. We'll see how that goes.

I failed to mention how dumb the rules have become. Might as well be flag football at times.

I agree off the court or field no matter what sport drama is asscociated with the players. I do think football has changed the most on the field though.

I agree that the newer rules lately in the NFL seem to take away from what the game is supposed to be. I understand part of it is to help prevent serious injuries though. But the NFL isn't the only one to change the rules to pacify the play. The NBA's charging/blocking rules and especially the hand check rules really kill the flow of games.

As far as the players go, there are criminals in all sports. As a long time Spurs fan, I know the Spurs have had many players with long rap sheets over the years. I'm actually glad to see the NFL commisioner stand up and punish some of these guys, especially the one that killed someone while DWI and then didn't even get a slap on the hand by our wonderful court system. That was ridiculous. I'm not a fan of his, but I'm glad Vick is getting to come back. As far as I'm concerned, he served real jail time after being punished by a real judge/court and has paid the price for what he did. People may still dispise him, but he was punshed and it's time to move on.

I agree with the Michael Vick. Don't care for him myself but would hate to think some day I would end up in jail, do my time, then not be able to go back to making a living for myself. Yes sometimes it's a condition of the parole board but they didn't state he couldn't have a football career again.

The whole NFL has become a joke and last year was it for me. It's going to the 'ignored' list of sports, along with the NBA.

The big joke here is the inconsistency with professional sports. As a baseball guy, it just kills me that Pete Rose has been banned from baseball for betting, but Michael Vick can go back to the NFL. I know betting may be against the rules of the game, and it may be illegal as well. But, I'm pretty sure there's a big difference in the crimes. And, speaking of crimes, the drugs, DWI's, weapons, etc. that have been mentioned here, and that have been running around the world of professional sports for years certainly do not compare to Pete betting on baseball. In my opinion, the Michael Phelps bong picture (which, BTW, I never saw) is a bigger deal to me. What those in charge need is a little perspective.

I guess the good news is that there's talk about possible lifting the ban for Pete. I'm all for it. Nobody ever has, or ever will, play the game like Pete Rose did. Babe Ruth, Barry Bonds (oh, please! I just remembered the "cheating" going on with steroids!), Micky Mantel, Ted William....they were really good. But, Pete was the best ever.

(Sorry I'm ranting. I guess my point is that, yes, it is a joke. Hopefully, the powers that be in the baseball world are realizing that betting is not as big a deal as it was made out to be.)
