Thread: Finger Leather Coral frag (I'm new!)

Question Finger Leather Coral frag (I'm new!)

Alright so there's this chunk that got pushed off the rock and turned like a light purple, shrivled, wilted, and looked almost dead.

I took it and shoved it into the sand at the bottom and it's light pink (it's original color) and standing up again. Never in my life have I fragged any coral mainly 'cause I've only had my tank up for 30 weeks and just recently started getting coral. It's the beeeeeeeeest.

So any who, I'm guessing they get shoved off because of the other pieces of the FLC is growing and need more space to get light?? What if I want to frag a piece of it? Is it as easy as those videos I've seen of them fragging regular Leather Coral in which they just slice off a chunk and rubber band it to rubble??

Yup that easy! If you have trouble with the rubber band cutting into the frag, use a smaller piece of rubble and "sandwich" the frag in between them.

Dang that's awesome! lol I don't plan on cutting it just yet unless someone asks me for a piece of it 'cause it's growing pretty fast and big. I love it.

    Thanks guys for confirming!
