I need to setup a little 50 gallon breeder tank with my old skimmer hooked up to it and just see what life comes out of it, im sure there will be aptasia and some other pests but nothing uncontrollable I hope. I also wanna see what benifical critters I can obtain for my display tank. I already have micro brittle stars, and collinista snails, mini cerith snails, speghitti worms, some bristle worms, but my wrasse killed most of thoes off before he committed suicide. anyway I'm always looking for more snails and cool stuff in there. Does anyone know what kind of sand sifting cucumbers I was finding in the large shallows in the keys? they were dark greenish brown and looked exactly like the cuc's that we buy from flordia over the internet, but I was wondering if these sandsifting ones were different because they constantly were buried. almost every little mangrove sapeling i found i could uproot it and pull 2 or 3 of these suckers out, of course I'd put the mangrove roots back in the soil before I left. I found tons of multi color sponges out there and huge balls of chato with tons of pods and stars in it. Anyway some of the cucumbers were 8-9 inches long! I wish it would have been legal for me to pull some of the mud out of thoes areas for my mangrove fuge with some of the chato and other macro algaes and such. I dont know if they consider that live sand or not. anyway thanks for reading!
