This was a great event... Thanks to all who put in so much time to make this a super success. Bob Fenner was a riot!! He is such a down to earth person and told us great stories at the bonfire. We also had a great time with Fredrick and Melinda from Coral Reef Bazaar (thanks for the collection tips and we still have your net). We also got to hang out with some friends and meet new members. DMAS members were also present and very friendly.

Can't wait till the next one...

I wanted to say thank you to everyone that helped with this event...a definite success...a big thank you to the sponsors for the wonderful raffle items! Bob Fenner for a very informative presentation...Steve and Cheri and those that helped behind the scenes. We had a great time...even my mother who is from Massachusetts enjoyed herself despite the heat she is very much not use to. She said she was having a hard time keeping up with us...my husband likes to go go go. She about fell over when she saw the length of the jetties, but she survived...only to whine for two days that her calves hurt LOL. When we were ready to leave the jetties we asked if she was ready to go and she said "no". It's addicting...sticking that little net in there and coming out with so many goodies.

I managed to catch a small butterfly fish, but I unfortunately didn't keep it apart from the shrimp and it looked as if they made a meal out of it overnight. It was by far the coolest thing I've caught, but it would have been nice to keep it alive a bit longer. Each trip we learn a little bit more

Thanks to everyone...looking forward to next year. That little blue heeler was a trip too...she's not afraid of anything. I wanted to bring my female Rottie when we first planned this, but wanted to stay in the same hotel so I decided against it. It wouldn't have worked out regardless because two weeks ago she was diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma (cancer on her heart). This being after bone cancer two years ago. Maybe next year I'll bring one of the mixes. It's fun to watch the dogs enjoy the beach and water too.

Wow!!! What can I say!! It's not everyday you get to participate in a trip that makes you look at life differently!! Who knew Texas had such a treasure in Port Aransas??? I didn't..but I do now!!!

Being from DallasMAS, we were so honored and pleased to be invited!! It was a long drive (8hrs) but VERY worth the drive!! I participated in both collections and the kayaking trip on Sunday. I met SOOOOO many wonderful people!! Learned so much!! I can't wait to get back!! Just makes me wish we had something up here in Dallas we could invite ya'll too that was as much fun!!!

Thanks for helping me find a blenny (taught me how to scrape the rock algea to find em)...hanging out with me on the night time collecting and sharing your knowledge (and for not rubbing it in too hard about the whole..SeaHare baby incident!!) and for making sure all us newb kayakers made it back safely!! PLEASE do it again next year!!!!!!

BigMan (aka Lil-Byrd)- Hope your sunburn doesn't look as bad as mine!!
Mizknee (yeah..I'm sure I spelled that wrong!!) - Thanks for all the laughs and the nuts!! send me that email!! We'll see if we can find you your 1/2 moon set up!!
