Thread: I have a 2.5 gallon nano.

    Default I have a 2.5 gallon nano.

It has been up and running well for 6 months. Lately I have grown a lot of algae. I am thinking that flow might be my problem. What kind of power head would move the right amount of water, and not blow my stuff away?

Im starting to have a similar problem in my 5.5 gallon and i also think its due to lack of flow. I have tried a mj 400 but that was to much power for mine so dont waste your time. the next step i plan to do to fight the algae is adding hermits

what about a koralia nano i have one in my 5 gallon and its fine jus right .. also how often do you do water changes ? i do 1 gallon a week and it seems to do alright also i have carbon, amonnia, and phosphate pads. the only thing i was having problems with was the salinity but ive been checking it everyday now. also what kind of lights and how old are the bulbs. 2.5 gallon is really small and makes it much harder to keep it stable, but they are cool.. i might start another one with just ACANS........

Aqua clear 10 might be the best. They are small and you can adjust them down.

I have a lot of live rock, and a large ball of Cheato? It doubles it size about once a month. I don't do water changes but maybe once a month with bottled water. I have had good luck so far but the inhabitants are pretty resilient.
I bought the tank from Fosters so it has the stock light on it. It is an 18W PC looking light. I have a small colony of brown polyps.
