you might actually be able to potty train him (sortof). when we had a lory, we would hold him over the trashcan and say "go potty" and he would. if we didnt remember to ask he would usually just go when he felt like it tho.

Our African Grey is potty trained with "go potty" also. He says "CANDY CANDY CANDY" until we give him a snack. Every morning he feels the need to say every word in his vocabulary and call everyone in the house including our other pets. He has 100+ word vocabulary. He will even have a conversation with himself. You will really enjoy him....

Besides being obnoxious, loud, self centered, demanding, egotistic, goofy, controling, and too smart for their own good? Not really. lol The Red LOred follows me around the house like a puppy dog saying, hello hello? She will scratch on the bedroom door in the morning untill we let her in the she yell hahahahaha! lol... She used to say "fire fire, save the chicken!" but she hasent said that for a while. The yellow nape is sneaky, he'll lure you in to scratching his head with his innocent look then, if he feels like it, he'll take a chunk out of your finger, he can laugh exactly like my wife to a T, sometimes I cant tell the difference, its amazing,, Thats one thing you really need to be careful with, especially around kids, these guys have very powerful beak muscles and can do some serious damage.

Sounds like your birds have PLENTY of funny quirks Jim lol. they sounds awesome. i had to run some errands today so i turned on a CD for him to listen to when i left and as soon as the music came on he started dancing and bobbing his head up and down and whistling to the music it was really cool.

Youre in for many surprizes along the way... When I was training my birds to talk, I used an endless loop tape cassette thats used analog answering macines, you can record whatever you want them to say and it repeats it all day long, over and over and over and over... You get the idea. It works too !

We have Jasper in the Kitchen and living room. He picks his own words and they are usually the bad ones. He loves to call the dogs and bite them. If you put your little guy where you have the most traffic in the house he will pick up on everything. Jasper talks ALL DAY!! Sometimes we have to cover him to watch the TV. Drives us crazy!!!
