    Default Swing keel cable problem

heyjudie@hotmail.com I have recently acquired a 30 yr. old Spirit 23 sailboat and have been restoring her little by liitle. The problem I'm faced with now is a hole where the bilge pump sits, where the cable to operate the swing keel is also located. This doesn't look right to me--does the swing keel cable belong there? If not, then where? I'm concerned that even if I manage to put a 3/4" plug in the hole water may still leak in since the cable is in that same hole. Can anyone advise me about this? Please help! I'm hoping to get the boat in the water this July. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Nice first post.

This is MAAST, marine aquarists association of south texas. We advocate for the proper treatment of marine and reef aquariums.

    LOL.

Maybe someone can help you anyways.

You can either email me: bstreep@satx.rr.com with a photo, or try www.cruisersforum.com. A photo would go a LONG way on your post - I'm a lifelong sailor and we have a 47' sailboat in Corpus Christi.
