    Default AC going out..Dang it!

Okay so it looks like my AC is on its way out. I have people coming in the morning to look at it but was wondering at what temp do I start adding frozen water bottles to keep the temps down in my tanks? Right now both tanks are sitting at 79-80....about normal!

I'll second 83+, even at 83 you may be ok. My 120g reef would be at 80 during the evenings and climb to 83 when the MH came on during the day for about 2 years. I had a mixed reef. I was on the edge of needing a chiller and not.

Also, if you have a sump/refugium that would be the best place to add the frozen bottles. I would start freezing them now if you haven't already and make sure you have enough to rotate them in and out.

    Good luck.

I have room if you need someone to hold some corals and you're in San Antonio... LOL.

Got fans going on both. Lights are also out and canopies open. Good news is that I have a company coming out tonight.

Sorry to hear about your AC... I actually just had folks here fixing mine today. I have gone through four companies, but finally found one that no kidding knows what they are doing. All Air Mechanical Service, 210-543-1441. No grief, very reasonable price (lowest of the four companies... one even tried $3K for a new coil and that wasn't even the issue).

Luckily I have two ACs for the different levels of the house. Hope all goes well for your tank! Good luck!

Okay A/C is fixed (darn ants ate the wiring to the outside unit)!!! House temp maxed out at 89 but the tanks maxed out at 81 so all should be good!
