nice tank you got there. i don't think you'll have the same problem here on maast. everyone has an opinion...most are good, so you'll not be ignored here, lol.

keep the updates coming. interesting to see you figure out about your clown. i have read that when a clown tries hosting corals that sometimes the they develop these black spots. apparently nothing to worry about. but, that is only if that is waht is causing the spots. if it is something else then...you get the picture.

wlecome to maast and hope you find it as great as we do.

How do you plan on setting up the LEDs? Will they be used to supplement the actinics or as a stand alone lighting system? I can't wait to see the results. I have been thinking about making this into my summer project...

stand alone lighting system. will run 6 cool white with 6 royal blue cree xre leds then 3-4 royal blues for a sunrise sunset effect. what i like is the fact that leds should be good for 10 years plus w/o replacing "bulbs" will save a ton of money in the long run. also with a potentiometer i can change the look of the tank at any time if i want a 20k look or a 6.5k look all it takes is a twist of a knob. more than willing to help ya out after i get my setup done shouldnt be too hard as i come a pc repair tech backround.....i can tear apart a laptop and put back together in about 30 min with solder work lol

sooo I think I found a aptasia in my tank. cant believe I never saw before the thing is huge and is fairly close to one of my Rics and the eagle eyes :/. whats the best / cheapest way to get rid of this thing only comes out at night.

If you have an aptasia problem you should get a few peppermint shrimp. They are known to eat these pests, but they also help clean the tank. Also, they really interesting to watch since they do not hide too much.

If that doesn't wok though you can buy treatment, but sometimes it requires a few applications to completely kill it.
