Default having a heat wave..a tropical heat wave..

Just wondering how everyone's tanks are doing in this stretch of 100 degree days.

My chiller's having to work a little harder to keep up...but so far so good. I Added 2 extra fans to help with heat accumulation in my fish room, but not much else has changed.

    Anyone else?

Thank god for chillers! My 1/2 HP on a 75 (lol) kicks on for like 2-3 minutes at a time to keep it 76 with the ac off. Makes me laugh.

My temp climbed past 84 (think it was 84.8), lost my eel. Since I've placed a fan to blow over the water spilling into my return sump from the fuge, now my temp is 77, give or take half a degree. No chiller and house temp is around 72 to 75, although at night we like to bump it down to 69.

But I'm making a lot more water now...

Electric bill isn't a problem, when wifey starts complaining I start with the "yes dear" mantra and focus on the television.

I keep my house at 76 during the summer. Since the "heat wave" (cue music), my tank has been a bit warmer hitting 82.XX degrees during the peak of the days heat. I don't have a chiller and do not plan on getting one. However, I do keep my ceiling fan on and have an 12" oscillating fan in the room.

My house was built under energy efficient guide lines (what ever those are) so my electric bill runs me about $120.00 a month during the summer max.

town house here and i understand the "yes dear" mantra but i focus on spongebob since my daughter is on summer vacation, max water temp 82.5 during the peaks with lights on i am looking to get a couple of ac fans from radio shack to circulate air under the canopy better since most my heat is there and i know i can't drill vent holes in the side

I have a small tank (29 biocuble) so temp issues have never been much of an issue. It's upstairs right underneath a A/C vent so the highest I saw it yesterday was 80.2. We run our upstairs @ 76 during the day and turn it to 73 at night.
