Thread: Community Fish

    Default Community Fish

I upgraded to a larger tank last week. There is a lot of room now and all my fish seem so small. I'd like to get some more fish to help populate the tank, but am unsure as to what I should get.

Here is what I currently have in the tank:

    • Bicolor Angel (1)
    • Lawnmower Blenny (1)
    • Flame Hawkfish (1)
    • Pink Skunk Clown (2)
    • Pearly Jawfish (2)
    • Copperbanded Butterflyfish (1)
    • Horseshoe Crab (1)
    • Coral Banded Shrimp (1)
    • Fire Shrimp (2)
    • Long Tentical Anemone (1)
    • Mexican Turbo Snail
    • Turbo Snail
    • Astrea Snail

This is what the tank looks like:

I'm thinking either Hutchii Anthias or Yellow Anthias. I don't know much about Anthias though.

Try a couple Chalk Basslets or green chromis

I like Cheetum's suggestions above (always wanted to try the chalk basslets myself, they are supposed to school and are really cool coloration). Both of those choices would be much easier to attempt than the anthias. Don't try anthias unless / until you have read a LOT about their care and talked quite a bit with a few folks who have kept that particular kind, as they have different needs and behaviors than many other fish and can be very difficult to adjust to aquarium life.

I've had some tragic anthias attempts and some successful and have a school of five in our 210g at the moment. Feel free to send me a pm if you want to discuss care and recommendations.
