I wasn't thinking about raising urchins. It was just a, generally speaking, type of comment. I was wondering why in Shimek's results IO was not able to support the urchin embryos as well as the other salts. According to WWW and others, there is information missing from the urchin study making it questionable.

I have read a few comparisons on synthetic vs. natural SW in terms of chemical composition, but where is the comparison in terms of coral growth/coloring matched to the individual composition of each salt choice. Corals and inverts grow much larger in their natural habitat, I haven't seen where NSW in your aquarium produces the same results.
