    Default Purple Algae

I purchased Kent marine "purple Tech" to assist with purple coralline and green calcareous micro algae on an uncured piece of rock, can anyone shed a little MAASTerfull light on this produce for me?

I dont think it promotes the growth of the algae, but does assist in the color. I am using
    it and does work.

Thanks robalv, how long did it take for you get algae on your rock or did you buy it live already?

Did you read the label on the purple tech? I'm pretty sure it doesn't contain any colaline algea, all it does is try to promote existing coraline. You definitely need some coraline to seed the tank.

Purple up is a calcium supplement. I believe the best purchased product for dosing our tanks is the 2 part system B-Ionic. This should be dosed according to the instructions, and the water parameters (Ca, Alk) must be tested to find the proper dosing levels. This stuff is "crack for corals" (Texas Todd).
