New tank build help please
Well Im getting alittle antsy to get a bigger tank again. I have a few questions for some of the DIY guys/gals. Im planning on building my next tank. I have narrowed it down to 2 sizes, 48'' x 30'' x 20'' or 36'' x 30'' x 18''. Either way this tank will be RIMLESS GLASS. My question is what thickness should the glass be? Could I use 3/8'' on a rimless? or is this pushing my luck? My guess is atleast 1/2'' on the 48'' long tank. What do you think?
Thanks
Dustin

since you want rimless, definitely dont use 3/8". you might be ok with 1/2" on the 36" long footprint, but you probably need at least 5/8" there and 3/4" if you do the 48" tank.

Dustin,
I like 48X30X20 and it's just a tad smaller than my tank. You should use 3/4 glass and oh yeah, make sure it's low FE starfire glass ;)
