    Default No, anyone but him......

Another carpet surfing thread. My diamond goby jumped last night. I have glass over the top of my tank, but forgot to close a panel after feeding last night. Mother in law noticed a dead fish on the carpet this AM. He was essential. Have to get another one. I need that white sand bed.

Do you have any problems with the goby spitting sand on corals? I would love to have something turn over my sand, but I have clams and fungia on the bottom.

    Default Maybe only 'partly dead'!

I have had the same situation where I come in the morning and find a dried, shriveled fish on the floor. Two I specifically remember, a snowflake moray and a firefish. I assumed they were dead but tried something. I washed off the dirt and dog hair then held them by thier tails in the aquarium for a few minutes and swished them back and forth, at least two fish have 'come back to life' for me doing this when I was certain they were dead. I have since covered EVERY hole in the tops of my tanks but, I would always try this before dumping them in the trash.

He has a couple of dens he maintains under rocks. Any corals on the bottom around those, may get sand on them. Other than that no problems. Does an excellent job of keeping the sand white. They are very easy to feed. He is a pig. I have a open brain on the sand that never gets sand spit on it. Your plates could be a problem, but only if they are in certain areas.

Does that mean he only cleans around his dens?

Dont get one if you have clams! The only sand sifter I have found to roam the tank and not cover my clams or corals was my twin spot gobies! They are small but very good at their job!

No he cleans everywhere, but just a pick up and drop fashion. Around the dens, he will pick up sand and spit it out in that area, to keep the den open. This can get a little messy.
