Told to me by a friend who works at a lfs
"I don't know why my fish are dying! I mean, I keep my tank so clean and I even clean my fish with a tooth brush before putting them in!"

Overheard one day at a lfs
-customer:( pointing at yellow tang) "That fish is so pretty. I bought one here but it died the same day"
-sales associate: "Do you have a saltwater tank?"
    -Customer: (calm innocent voice) "No."
    C'mon people!!!

customer: how many 2-3" fish can I have in my 24g?
clerk: you can have about ten if you use lots of live rock, but if you dont get too much LR theres more water so you could put about 20.

Years ago when I worked at Petsmart (obviously only sale freshwater tropical fish)

A couple comes in " Are all these fish tropical fish?" they asked. I answered "Yes" They proceed to purchase a Bala Shark and a few other cheap fish and leave. 2 hours or so later they return with dead fish. " You told me these were tropical fish and when I put them into my saltwater they died instantly" then I replied "Tropical- does not meen Saltwater, simply that they are from tropical regions of the planet or closer to the equator." They understood after that and the woman said to the husband " I told you they didnt look like saltwater fish"

I will never forget it, LOL.
