    Default newbie question

i was thinking of making a top for one of my tanks and was going to use 2 250w MH in this top. tank is a 75g. my question is for a reflector has anyone heard of using an actual mirror? just line the inside of the top with mirrors? has this been done before? would this work? i know it would be a heavy canopy. thanks for your help.

not sure if the glass in the mirror would stand up to the heat - it might crack. you could use solar tube material instead, it is nearly as reflective and made of aluminum.

One of the reasons we do not use mirrors is because the light has to pass through the glass twice. http://www.reeflightinginfo.arvixe.com/articles.htm
