I just got a call that my brother inlaws new puffer fish has something about .5 inch long sticking out “its back side” its all white but at the base looks bludy read. I told him it sounds like it may be a part of its insides that came out last time it pooed but I truly have no idea on just what and how can he help it back in with out pushing it with his fingers the puffer is only about 2 inches in total length. Anybody have any ideas to help him out that I can pass along.
Just heard back from him; no missing fish, eats salad shrimp from Wal-Mart one hole med shrimp per day typically at 8pm ish. I had sent him the store he is up in Dallas and need to set up a qt the other wrasses and a blue tang in the tank were pecking at it. He showed the pic to the guy at the fish store and was told its "prolaps" I have no idea what that is.
Well after one day the second tail has gotten a little shorter and no longer showing the blood red bass so we’re keeping our fingers crossed that it will all end up fixing itself and becoming able to move back home from the qt
Good news he is still alive! try feeding him smaller items. I feed mine table shrimp cut into pieces, silversides, clams, mussels. I freeze it all first to prevent any parasites. Hopefully he will pull through.
