    Default Help w/ Rusty Hinges

I noticed some rust forming on my canopy hinges so I made a plan today to replace them. Two hinges removed and replaced with no problem but the third hinge has a lot more rust damage than I had realized. I can't get the phillips screwdriver head into the screw. I've tried to loosen it up with WD40 and some elbow grease but its not working. Anybody have any ideas on how I can get these screws out?

Just drill the head out, or drill it and then use an easy-out(10/32) to screw it out.
Reefing is just like cooking, all the ingredients have to be just right , except you don't have to bring the water to a BOIL...

You can use a dremel to make a grove in the screw head. Then use a straight blade to unscrew it.

On a related note, do you guys have any tricks from keeping your hinges and screws from rusting? I was thinking of something like clear rustoleum but wasn't sure if it would foul the tank.
