what would you feed your tang? I have read about nori, spinach, romaine lettuce, and macro algea... It all seems a bit confusing since my wife and I want to kep a healthy fish population. At teh moment I have some dried seaweed on a veggie clip on the side of our tank. Problem is the seaweed breaks apart and floats around....help?

i feed the nori that is used to make sushi. some people get it at HEB, i got mine online a lot cheaper. some people say not to use the roasted stuff (they say the fish dont like it as much) but my fish seem to love it. i also feed frozen three to four times a day (small amounts) the equivalent of 6-8 of those cubes in the pre cubed food per day. mine is a mix of brine, mysis, blood worms, and krill.

as far as the bits of nori floating around, my tangs eat it up before it has a chance to fall apart. they are waiting at the clips (i have two on opposite ends of the tank to curb agression) when i knock the old nori off into the water and put fresh in the clips. they eat the old first and then start in on the new stuff.

So I guess eventuay the tangs will know where the clips are located and go to there for a snack. Takes time I guess...until they figure it out they will continue to get the frozen food. They have been eating it very well so far...

even after they find the nori and eat it well, i would still give them frozen food.

    Default Here are the Pictures

The following pictures are of our Yellow Belly Blue Tang are not very good. They do not really show his coloration, which at the moment is not very bold. His (or her?) belly is pale yellow and the top dorsal fins have this redish tint to them...Anyway, here are the pictures, enjoy...

You can kinda see the yellow here...

Here is a litter glimpse at the red in his fin...again does not do him justice...quite striking when he flares his spins...

another picture trying to show the red...man he moves around a bunch...
