Fish Only Tank?
Does anyone have fish only tanks?
I realize this is a "reef" discussion board, but my wife and I are thinking of changing our 75gal Cichlid tank into a saltwater fish only tank. We would like to get other fish we can not keep in a reef.
Thanks.

You're going to want to make it at least FOWLR (fish only with live rock), you can get away with keeping a lower specific gravity...I think as low as 1.018 or maybe even lower...but you will have to have a nice filtration plan for all of the fish if you stock heavy.
Jose would be the man to talk to...maybe he will chime in...he has a killer setup. Doesn't get much better than this:

RayAllen also had a nice 200gallon one for awhile too...sure he could give you some nice tips and provide a thread...

Your signature says you have a mixed reef, fish only should be no sweat.

Mr Cob - Thanks for the link. I did a search yesterday and didn't find much using "Fish Only Tanks". Now I know what FOWLR now stands for... You mentioned a "nice filtration plan"-What do you recommend? (Refugium, Skimmer, Deep sand bed, etc.)
Troutmasters02 - Yes we already have a 125gal mixed reef. My wife is Pennies2Cents. She has many more posts than I do one here.
