Some people feed once or twice a day. What fish are you keeping? What inverts are you feeding? If you are talking bout crabs and snails, you dont really have to target feed those. The will eat anything.

The more (with smaller doses) the better. Also not feeding to close to lights out is good. Most fish and inverts will adapt to the schedule you need ex. night time feeders eating while lights on.

I feed my fish every other day. I feed very small amounts, making sure that almost all of the food is consumed.

Everything in my tank has adapted perfectly to my feeding schedule. If I raise my hood, they all come running or swimming, no matter what time it is. If I put my hand in the water they will eat the food out of it. No food, no problem. They just try to eat my hand instead!

I feed mine once a day, it's my favorite time of reef keeping. They follow you around the tank like the Dog Whisper and all his dogs.
Reefing is just like cooking, all the ingredients have to be just right , except you don't have to bring the water to a BOIL...

2 years ago when I had a damsel only reef I fed maybe 2 or 3 times a week. Once my tank was established after about a year I ditched the damsels and started with tangs, clowns and other reef safe fish and started feeding once a day. Now I have a pair of large square Anthias and a breeder pair of black onyx clowns that require regular feedings of frozen foods...so, I feed twice a day. The feedings are a couple of hours apart, once around 5 or 6 and the second around 9 or 10pm. Lights out at midnight. My refugium is 24 hour lighting.

I also turn off my return pumps when I feed so that all of the food is eaten from the main display. Fish are happy and the skimmate is dark! I rarely had any skimmate before the dual feeding times.

I only feed 2 -3 times per week. But I also feed the corals about twice a week and my sun coral everyday. Everything seems to do great. Feeding less takes a lot of hassle out of maintenance.
