Well I have digital phone so the phone line comes in on the cable box. Man I hope the crook isn't on MAAST because I've given up a lot of info here. LOL

You'll know it was one of us if your t.v. and some corals are missing.

I know where you live Josh.... lol Ive had Brinks for 20 some years, no problems at all. They're very quick to respond to any unusual activity and always call within a minute or so. With all the stuff I have in my house, its an absolute necessity.
LOL... If the skimmer is gone and all the connections are nicely capped and bulkheads closed so that my tank doesn't drain, yep it's one of yall!
The more I think about this the more I think maybe just being simple and quit overthinking it, just go with a big commercial alarm company and be done with it would be the best way. I mean I can have a good elaborate (better!) system installed by myself DIY or a basic system with monitoring from a commercial company, but if I'm gone out of town with no cell range at least somebody will show up if the alarm goes off.
I used to have the radio shack plug and play wireless alarm system. It was o.k. We had a few false alarms while we were sleeping. I wouldn't recommend a wireless system because they just don't seem to be as reliable as wired. If you go with a professional system try to negotiate with them to at least cover all of your windows and doors. Those sensors are not very expensive. Tell them you are going to get quotes from the other companies unless they hook you up with freebies.

Make sure to let them know ahead of time you don't have a phone line, that your "phone" service is through your cable just so it's not an issue at time of installation. Also get as many window stickers and yard signs as you can, sometimes the installers forget to leave any. It's funny how everyone wants signs/stickers, even if they don't have an alarm. I work for a division of ADT and therefore have to drive an ADT van. I can't count how many people have made up stories trying to get signs from me, they've even stopped at my house and knocked on my door trying to get some! They are ridiculous sometimes. Fortunately/unfortunately, the division I work for has nothing to do with burglar alarm systems so I don't have access to that stuff. But I do have a big giant sign on 4 wheels sitting in my driveway!![]()
As a side note, if you do get it professionally installed and monitored, run it by your home insurance company, you can possibly get a discount on your rate.

Our kids had one of the $199 wireless ones at school in their house. Frankly, it worked great. Scared folks off, and that's what you want it to do.

IMO its all in the training.. but our rot was an awesome addition to the family. remember
with any dog your going to need it to be trained to do what you want. our rot was great with the kids as well as the kids down the street she would pull all of them on their skate boards. she never dug at all but if she was laying in the back yard and you said Georgia
get in the truck lets go. she would jump our 4ft fence and jump into the back of the truck
before you could get your shoes on. the only bad habit she had was she would slobber all over the place after she would drink water and want to lick your face.
just make sure you get it young and train train train a security dog is only as good as its trainer.
once that dog becomes part of your "pack" he/she will do anything to protect you.
the boys used to fight with each other and she would get between them to stop them from fighting with each other.me personally i like the temperament of the females
better. as the males get a little older they tend to not play as much.
our neighbor had 2 rots a male and a female they were the bigger german strain and were both over 100lb and over 7 yrs old the female still would play with the kids while
the male just watched everything goin on. but if anyone walked by our back fence they would go off like a alarm clock at 3am...somethin about the snarl and deep bark of a rottie that makes you stop dead in your tracks.. and god forbid a cat got in their back yard....
if you do get any security dog have them trained to eat only what you put down!!
if a person wants to get in your back yard theyll put pills or soak hamburger in antifreeze
