Return it, and get the Lenovo. Best laptops on the maket, not comparable in quality. the keyboard will hold 11 oz. of liquid, they garauntee that you can drop it from 4feet at any angle and there will be no damage, and they garauntee that in a laptop bag it can be tossed 14 linear feet with no damage. I handled Laptops Lease Management for Clarke American 4 years ago, and this is all we had there. They may not be as pretty as an xps, but if you are going for pretty, then you don't really care how they handle.

I have had both a Dell Latitude 610 and 620 over the last 3 years, both had 2 power supplies go bad, 1 battery each, and 2 harddrives each. Not to mention, the 620 fell off the arm of my couch (2.5 feet), and it cracked the whole case open. The latitude series is Dells "toughest" business level series, so good luck.

I guess if I'm planning on using my laptop as a cup or shotput I'd return it. Considering this will be my third laptop and third Dell I really don't see where Lenovo can compare in what I got for price. Actually they could for another $1000 but I'll just be a little more careful with it than that. My boy has dropped my old Dell Inspiron 8200 twice and broke the PC Card wireless adapter but so far the laptop is still doing fine.

Like I said before, please no "Dell/Lenovo" haters reply. I didn't want it to be that kind of thread. And since they both spec out fairly evenly in performance then it really came down to bang for the buck.

I did not "hate" on Dells. I stated facts about poorly built products. And that was only the 2 I actually owned, not the 223 other Dell systems I supported for a company, both servers/desktops/monitors/latops you name it. I don't hate Dell, I have just had a ton of bed experieces with hundreds of them-literally. Oh, and your battery isn't covered under warranty for very long if at all as far as I remember.

I mentioned those previous things about the lenovo because when having a laptop, you are implying that it moves off your desk. I only have laptop because I need to move from location to location to use it, and I do quite often sit a drink next to it when I am working on it.

No probs. We're still just all reefers here.
I just didn't have the same amount of money to drop on the Lenovo that it would require to get the same basic machine. I do understand that Lenovo's are great machines, we have many of them at work. Just my experience with Dell so far hasn't been as bad I suppose.
