kenya tree closed up??
For the past few days my kenya tree has been closed up. I've seen it closed up before in the past even tighter than it is right now but never for this long before. It hasn't extended out for a few days now. I do a 10% water change every week, it hasn't been moved recently, and I notice no damage or pests on it. Last week I did have a really high Ca level (not sure why) but I did a water change and it's now back to normal. Any idea what's going on with this guy? All other corals and livestock are doing great and growing fast!

we have a Purple tree coral that normally is about 8-10 inches when extended...then all of a sudden it will just close up and shrivel to about 3 inches. ours has always loomed up again. Though I do not know why. Each time it does it I freak out thinking it is going to die, then the next day it is healthy and flowing...

I've had similar experiences. My tree shrivels up for several days but it always comes back. I test the water when this happens and my parameters are all normal.

So maybe this guy will come around! I hope it pulls through...it's a beautiful coral when fully extended!

If for some reason it doesn't make it, I will give you more kenya tree than you know what to do with. It's constantly overrunning my tank.
It's really hardy. Give it some time and it will blossom again. You will find that it has moods, like an anemone.
