The Salvation Army does great work year round. They provide meals for those who are affected by storms (and they stay well after the Red Cross is gone), house and feed the homeless, etc. They depend on the kettle and gifts from folks Wills. They come to town every few years and provide for lawyers CLE and give us a huge book on planned giving.
