Help with choosing a HQI Bulb
I just purchased a 24" Coralife HQI light. It is 150w 10,0000k. The light looks to yellow for my liking. I want to upgrade to 150w 20,000k. Please provide suggestions on good bulbs that will provide the blue color instead of yellow.

I would strongly consider the Phoenix 14000K. I have a 150w on my frag tank. It is a little bluer than other 14000K (ushio or hamilton).

I have a 40 gallon tall tank. Is that bulb good for a tank with that much depth?

It will be much better than a 20k bulb as far as par output.

I went by Aquatek in Austin today. They have tanks set up with different lights and are labeled so you can see what each one looks like on a tank.
I liked the looks of the Phoenix 14K best.

I use XM 20ks and like them as well. I really like the phoenix bulbs as well.
