Default Guys - a quick, cheap "homerun" homecooked meal...

Our NEW HEB opened up a few weeks ago - 281 at Evans. They have (and I'm not sure which others have this) "Macaroni Grill" entrees in a box. On most of them, you just add chicken, maybe some milk & butter. They are less than $4. I bought a couple just for the heck of it - don't really know why...

Anyway, we've tried 3 different ones. The absolute WINNERS are the Basil Parmisan and the Alfredo. The Marsala is good, but not great. I'm telling you, these are "drop the fork, I can't believe this came out of a box" good. These are NOT the typical box pasta garbage, nor do they resemble "hamburger helper". They take about 10-15 minutes to make, and the directions are PERFECT and easy.

So, my suggestion is, snag one or 2, and surprise her with a "home cooked" meal she won't believe you made. These are seriously, seriously good.

I don't know, if I were to surprise my wife with dinner that I claimed to cook it would probably cause her to go into labor 5 weeks early!!! Good idea though, I'll give it a shot one of these days.

I tried one of these out tonight, it was good! Tried the Creamy Basil Parmesan and Chicken. As if it wasn't easy enough, I used some of that frozen pre-cooked/cut chicken breast fajita meat and it came out perfect.
Took about 10 minutes and like I said, yum.

i like to make tomato basil soup all you need is 1 large can tomato soup (mix with half can water and half can milk), crumble and brow half a package mild italian sausage and add it to the soup along with three large tablespoons dried basil and thats it. what ever is left over you can add mozerella cheese and peperoni and call it pizza soup or add raviaoli.

    Jeff,

I tried your recipe. Hmm. When I "browed" the sausage, I just got a greasy forehead. Did I do something wrong?

Seriously, I printed that one out...

no, you didn't do anything wrong, you just didn't hold you face in the pan long enough.
nice catch on the bad spelling.
